Standing
A second-Saturday doubles-survival event where the player advances — not a fixed team. The goal is to keep doubles on the court while reducing how much a single partner draw can decide someone’s night.

WORKING EVENT CONCEPT
Two lives. Rotating partners. One survivor.
The working direction is a double-elimination-inspired format where each player carries their own standing or “lives,” while every game is still played as doubles. Teams are rebuilt between rounds instead of locking two players together for the entire bracket.
This is intentionally a format preview, not the final ruleset. HTV will finalize field size, seeding, game length, and DUPR treatment before registration opens.

THE PROBLEM TO SOLVE
Survival should not become partner roulette.
A player should not be sent home simply because two random partner assignments went badly. The pairing system needs to create competitive teams and deliberately limit repeat partners.

Individual livesWins and losses attach to the player, not a permanent team.

Rotating partnersRepeat partners are avoided until the field makes them unavoidable.

Balanced pairingsCurrent standing or seed can be used to build teams with similar combined strength.

Transparent tiebreaksWins first, then a published secondary measure such as point differential if needed.
POSSIBLE FINAL FOUR
Make the last stage remove partner luck.
One strong option is a four-player crown round instead of a fixed championship team. The final four would play the three possible doubles combinations so every finalist partners each of the other finalists once. Individual wins — with a clearly published tiebreak — determine the Last Man Standing.

The second-Saturday slot establishes a recurring feature while leaving room to test the fairest possible structure before asking players to register.
